I assume that John Clausner does not need the talks anymore to support his lifestyle. But the vast majority of scientists do. They need the jobs, they need the grants and they need the peer recognition as otherwise they won’t be able to sustain their lifestyles anymore. In a sense, every single person working somehow in climate science depends with his livelihood on the belief that the world is warming due to human emissions of CO2. If they ever came to the conclusion that this narrative does not hold water, they would have to recommend the abolition of their well-paid jobs. What are the chances they would ever do that? No matter what the objective facts turn out to be.
