Norway’s Barents Sea ambitions fading as more projects disappoint

Upstream regions like the Barents Sea will also have to deal with a challenging price environment. Shale has put some sort of price ceiling in and no matter where you put that, it likely is lower than many deep-sea or Arctic developments will pay you. So even if you strike paydirt, you might not like the figures.

Norway’s vision of establishing a new major oil province off its northern tip has suffered another blow.

I was introduced to and met Rudi in Angola when he started to develop his Sub Saharan Africa network. At the time he worked for EconGas/OMV and he tried organizing longterm LNG supply for them under the unlikeliest of all circumstances.
