NOVATEK obtains plot of land for construction of LNG transshipment terminal in Murmansk Region
I know that I have said so many times and that this gets irksome but people tend to forget very quickly. A reloading terminal in Murmansk is going to cost a pretty penny. A billion USD or more? This cost comes on top of whatever cost the LNG coming from Russia already has to bear. They do so in order to liberate their expensive ice-class vessels. This means that its cheaper to throw a billion USD at a terminal rather than using the ice-class vessels to go further. This gives me an idea on the real cost of the ice-class vessels. This is no cheap LNG – no matter how the story is spun.
