Obstacles to renewables growth can be addressed

There is primarily one thing that stands in the way of wind and solar growth. It’s called “affordability”. We always look at isolated figures when we need to look at those things systemically. It’s dishonest to not factor battery or other balancing costs to intermittent power sources. It’s also dishonest to use the legacy grids paid for by conventional energy and give wind and solar a free ride. We can throw subsidies until we are all bankrupt at it – but what then? This equation does not balance.
