OPEC+ gambles that U.S. shale’s golden age is over
What happens to an entrepreneur when he is under strain and facing a potentially deadly market. That’s right – he will fight like a cornered dog for survival and will find stores of strength that no one thought possible. Private enterprise is resourceful. At least, those resourceful will prevail and the rest dies and gets eaten up by the top of the flock. Contrast that with what happens to a large bureaucracy under strain – they go into Rigor Mortis and wait until the problem goes away by itself. They do nothing as their very structure ensures that someone will ride out to save them. Knowing that they see no value in being resourceful and that’s why they cannot hope to compete with shale. That’s also why they don’t understand it.
