Pipeline crisis spurs calls to boost, and forsake, fossil fuels

The pipeline crisis has given people a little scare. And we saw how they reacted. They were afraid that they won’t have fuel anymore so they started hoarding. Looks like people do know very well that a life without conventional energy will not be the one thing they always dreamt of. Slowly it starts to creep in that those policies won’t just be some funky stories. They will affect them in a very painful way. When the sleeping giant wakes, the Earth shakes.

The cyber-attack that crippled the nation’s biggest fuel pipeline this week triggered spot shortages of gasoline and a gusher of political rhetoric, with groups from across the political spectrum offering myriad, and contradictory, solutions.

I was introduced to and met Rudi in Angola when he started to develop his Sub Saharan Africa network.
