Yes, the sanctions and the conflict in Ukraine may also have played a very small role. Way more important is the economics of this project. I have heard more than once that PoS 1 is a political project and will never make money. People hold the mistaken notion that pipeline transport is so cheap, it’s almost free. The truth is that many times LNG will be cheaper. China sure does not want to be dependent on one supplier. They do LNG now and I think they like the freedom of choice this brings them.
