Qatar pulls LNG investment trigger as crown slips
Is the volume crown really that important? I don’t think it is. Way more important would be to bring on qualitative change in the LNG world. And I see pretty little of that coming from the big players. LNG replacing other liquid fuels for transportation is more of a grassroots movement that happens in spite of the big players. Not because of them. If Qatar wants to compete with the other contenders for the volume crown – very well. But it could open a totally new premium class where it’s a God-like player. That won’t happen while they are asleep though.
