Qatar to regain its top slot in LNG exports by 2026
The question is – does it matter? I know, it is tempting to wear the crown but there is a massive difference between the two other contenders and Qatar. The US and Australia feature a multitude of projects driven by private interests. There is no central plan on how to be the biggest and the best. When the US and Australia take the crown, it just happens by accident. It would be way more important for Qatar to start putting money into a qualitative step change. LNG trading is already quite quaint. But when you look at the oil world, it’s a fart in the wind. There is plenty of room at the bottom.
