The only real energy transition is not from conventional energy to unreliables as this will peter out and fizzle away in time. It’s much more gaseous energy carriers taking over from oil. Gas has been used to replace coal so far but it’s also a great fuel for vehicles and can do anything diesel does. Only much, much cleaner without the need for cheating. The conversion of mobility from oil to gas has only just begun. If all North America transitioned to Natural Gas engines, the current global LNG production would not suffice to cover it.
