Remote Russia region moves ahead with plans for LNG receiving terminal

In 2018 I predicted that Russia might become a gas importer in the near future. Kamchatka was not my immediate focus but it was clear to me that Russia was running out of legacy gas fields to exploit and that the new gas fields plus their infrastructure might be too expensive to run for the price needs of Russia, a big gas consumer in its own right. The Russian problem predates the Ukraine war by decades. We should have seen it coming but if we are good at one thing it is putting heads into the sand.
