Now imagine such a fire in the middle of a big city. Maybe in the basement of a high-rise building. The building must then likely be scrapped entirely as days of hot flames in basements make the arming steel melt and hence destroy the integrity of the building. But even if they are free-standing, those fumes are extremely toxic. How far does it have to be from any civilization to be deemed safe? And this is all for a couple of minutes worth of storage. Oh, let’s not forget that reliable power sources such as hydro, nuclear, or thermal power do not need any of this. They produce on demand.
