If we conjure up images from the Dark Age, we imagine filthy people living very unhealthily. One of the reasons why the Roman Empire was not as plagued by the plague (nice wordplay) was that regular bathing was a thing. The decline of bathing also brought more frequent bouts of all sorts of pandemics including the Black Death. Many have argued that climate activists want humanity to regress back to the stone age. They are certainly raising a stink.
