Road pricing would cut congestion- Roger Bootle
It’s not only the “if you are rich enough you can drive thing”. Everything will be more expensive as all goods are transported over roads and the price for that will find its way into our products and services. Also, those roads had been built with fuel taxes in the past so this is nothing but a new tax on everyone to throw after gluttonous politicians. But most importantly, if it hits the majority of the population it will soon be a topic in elections. How long does anyone expect that to stand?
