As things stand right now, Russia won’t be able to remain in Ukraine for much longer. This war has cost them dearly already and other regions in the old Russian backyard also make noises that they want Russia out. Let’s just imagine for a little moment that Russia disintegrates like the old Soviet Union did. Yes, I know that’s still a far-off prospect but I remember how ridiculous the proposition that the Soviet Union could break up was in 1988. Imagine Russia breaks up and the world goes into a new cold cycle freezing much of the Arctic up. Sorting the new energy bling out won’t be fun.
