Russia’s stronger economy lets Putin stare down OPEC

Russias stronger economy? What have I missed? Years of relatively low commodity prices (Russias cash cow), superexpensive projects replacing supercheap ones, pretty stiff sanctions, expensive wars at multiple theaters, … Help me here. Where do they have a fountain of gold? Because I cannot see a strong economy at all. I think Russia decided to resist output cust because they cannot afford them. So, let’s sit down and wait that one out.
