Those installations have cost a pretty penny to develop and even without the thawing problem, the current market makes recouping the investment a challenge. This depends on the sun and our central star does not care about the problems of mere humans. All the billions Russia has put into new gas developments might have to be reinvested again just in order to keep the gas flowing.
