Samsung Heavy develops new LNG carrier design

That is very nice. But what we really need is a plethora of smaller carriers that can redistribute LNG from the big terminals onto islands, into isolated communities, and up and down rivers. Those big LNGCs contain massive volumes. Those are hard to swallow for most destinations. But truck trailers only hold 45 m3. There should be vessels that hold a couple of thousand m3 while being shallow water capable. That would make the LNG value chain much more attractive. I am sure Elon would love it.
