Saudi Arabia unveils campaign to tackle climate change
If Saudi Arabia wanted to reform its economy it would foster true entrepreneurialism – but real entrepreneurs will ask for more than pure arbitrariness from the rulers. hey will want legal certainty and in time they want a voice. Saudi Arabia never had to trust its own people for its riches – it always sold what they pumped out of the sands. But this has an expiration date not because the oil age comes to an end but because the resource base of Saudi Arabia is not as cheap and unproblematic anymore as we are used to. A big government-controlled scheme is what they go after – but it’s wrong.
