Scrubber Discharge Gets Master Fined in Absentia

I remember as if it was yesterday when the a big debate on what’s the best fuel solution for the future of ocean transport. There was a very large and clear majority in favor of scrubbers. They wanted to go on using their dirty fuels as they were cheap and that’s what they are used to. Allows you to do little – just install those scrubbers. But scrubbers are a complex chemical process on board a moving ship. One thing you know when you are a seafarer is that you want to minimize complex processes on the open sea. LNG would have given them a clean and simple solution. No scrubbers are required. Some took it – they can forget about those things now.
