Shell aims to become world’s largest electricity company

There was a time, not long ago, when Shell was at the forefront of energy development. I did not quite agree with all their projects and decisions, but much of what they had done inspired courage and awe. Not this. If this is the new direction the company has chosen to take, it’s really about time for them to exit oil and gas. I was introduced to and met Rudi in Angola when he started to develop his Sub Saharan Africa network. At the time he worked for EconGas/OMV and he tried organizing longterm LNG supply for them under the unlikeliest of all circumstances.
