Small island nations take high-emitting countries to court to protect the ocean

That might be a blessing in disguise. Because if they advance a claim, they will have to prove it. This means that they will have to demonstrate that the seas are actually rising faster than they did in pre-industrial ages and also will have to demonstrate how plant food emitted by man is really heating our world. Because so far all we get are models, conjecture, and opinions. But no proof. Maybe those island nations can provide that proof. Maybe we finally get to see more than emotions and opinions. And we might also be able to unpick everything they throw at us. As it is in court: you prove what you say, I get to pick it apart.
