Sonatrach Makes Massive Gas Find In Sahara Desert
Sonatrach really needs all the gas it can find to avoid the Egyptian disease. Egypt had to discontinue exporting gas and even mothballed its LNG export terminals as they were running out of gas years ago. Their domestic market needs grew massively. Their upstream has caught up in the meantime but the chaos was palpable. Algeria is an even bigger gas exporter than Egypt is. If it fell into the Egyptian trap, Europe would be in a really bad spot. Good news.
