South Africa Braces for More Frequent Blackouts this Winter

If you have been to South Africa lately, you will have a hard time imagining how this could get any worse as the situation right now is horrific. I have friends who tell me that they only have power for a few hours per day. And yet, the bottom has not been reached at all. Far from it. Once thriving countries have been reduced to people scavenging in the streets by politics. Venezuela is just one prominent example. Zimbabwe right around the corner is another. My generation has seen 50 grandiose years. The rest of our lives will be much less stellar.

South Africa has a “high risk” of increased rotational blackouts during the coming winter.

I was introduced to and met Rudi in Angola when he started to develop his Sub Saharan Africa network. At the time he worked for EconGas/OMV and he tried organizing longterm LNG supply for them under the unlikeliest of all circumstances.
