South Africa Weighs Extending Lives of Larger Coal Power Plants

South Africa is a basket case of how removed politicians are from the daily plight of the people. Things have been awful in South Africa for a while now. Load Shedding is an issue for more than a decade now. Electricity has become a luxury and even people that have never thought of leaving are packing up now. The country is a disaster and politicians still only weigh decisions. There should be immediate and urgent action. The country is failing and will break apart if nothing extreme is being done. More coal would be a step in the right direction but this must be fast coal.

I was introduced to and met Rudi in Angola when he started to develop his Sub Saharan Africa network. At the time he worked for EconGas/OMV and he tried organizing longterm LNG supply for them under the unlikeliest of all circumstances.
