South Africa’s Eskom, Sasol agree to explore LNG options

Once again – there has been a whole lot of talk from South Africa when it comes to LNG but almost no action. Those who have been exposed to the country have contracted the fear of chaos and often don’t want to come back. South Africa needs energy imports like yesterday. There is very little in terms of distribution infrastructure in place, there is no gas storage in place and also not much of an opportunity to build some and the country is fractious which makes business even harder. Let’s not forget that South Africa is far from anyone as it’s not in the way of normal shipping movements. It must stand on its own merits.
