“Stranded Assets”: Who Will Have The Last Laugh?

In 2013 and 2014 I was part of a group charged with finding a way for wind parks in Austria to have an economic future beyond the day of subsidies. We looked at many of those surrounding Vienna and came to a crushing conclusion. Subsidies were for pretty much ever. Once those payments and commercial aides would come to a stop, every single wind turbine around Vienna was dead meat. So, the question became: How long will taxpayers throw endless money at those contraptions while at the same time the economy goes down the drain? What assets look more and more stranded now?
