Suburban Chicago man says dashboard of his Tesla caught fire out of the blue

We have countless such stories and every time someone asks the question how this is OK, EV protagonists slam us with comparisons that there are way more fires on Internal Combustion Engine vehicles. There is only one difference. Which parked ICE vehicles have ever spontaneously caught fire or exploded with no prodding from outside? It simply does not happen. You may have an accident, the tank ruptures and you have a big fire. But when the vehicle does not move at all and is also not struck by anything from the outside, ICE vehicles don’t burst into flames. EVs do that all the time. If you drive one, think about that. You sit in a device that might roast you at any time with no warning.
