Suez Canal Fiasco Should Remind US Leaders of Importance of Bolstering American Energy Capabilities
Blockages of a waerway like Suez is always a problem. But we have allowed it to grow beyond anything that we can reasonably justify. Becasue when the entire world buys from one – or a few – producers of everything, then the world quickly runs out of everything if this everything must pass the canal. COVID should have taught us that we must build our industries back up again for resilience sake alone – and many others as well. Suez will always be important – but less dependence on one world region is the jab we need to cure our economies.
