Texans Asked to Cut Electricity Use, As Wind Power Drops Off

How crazy is that? Anyone in the energy world knows that Houston is the energy capital of the world. There is plenty of oil and gas in the state and the energy industry contributes a sizeable piece to the state budget. And yet, electricity is regularly the most expensive in the US by an order of magnitude. It’s worse than in Green extremist heaven California. But Texas has massive wind generation and little possibility to balance it out with other states. That’s what wind power does. A useful example of how fast your life can go to the dumper.

I was introduced to and met Rudi in Angola when he started to develop his Sub Saharan Africa network. At the time he worked for EconGas/OMV and he tried organizing longterm LNG supply for them under the unlikeliest of all circumstances.
