Texas’ Blackouts Blew In on the Wind
As long as unreliable power generation assets are just a tiny percentage of any electrical system, their inherent unreliability is swallowed by the meat in the allover system. At a certain point, this is used up. It gives many the impression that wind and solar are much cheaper than they really are. This “fat in the system” has a price tag and if you use it up without replacing it, you will pay the price when the event it was originally designed strikes. Wind and solar are not cheap as they need a crutch of reliable energy at all times. That will never go away.
