Texas Tragedy Highlights Need to Increase Grid Resilience Nationwide
Texas really had it coming. And it’s not only because of its over-reliance on wind and solar. It’s also not only because the grid is inadequate and also not because this is not going to be the last or strongest polar vortex. It’s because Texas has little in terms of gas storage and hence all upstream issues in gas ripple through onto the distribution grid. Gas storage costs money and producers states often feel they don’t need it. Think again.
