The US will likely slip into the next phase of the energy transition by adoption Natural Gas as a fuel for real now. The first attempt was not a bed of roses but those having invested early will find themselves in the front row when this breaks. It would make transport in the US real clean and cheaper and give US technology companies an further edge. The saved oil can then be exported to other countries that have scorned shale so far.
