Zuckerberg has decided to end the censure part of his business. Who expected that just 3 months ago? Things change, sometimes very quickly, and it’s much faster and easier in for-profit businesses. The BBC is a taxpayer-funded institution and as such its commercial pressures are very different from those Facebook and their kin face. They are much more sheltered from the real world so they can afford to push world views that are completely out of tune with facts and the needs of the people. But it will hit them just the same. I was introduced to and met Rudi in Angola when he started to develop his Sub Saharan Africa network. At the time he worked for EconGas/OMV and he tried organizing longterm LNG supply for them under the unlikeliest of all circumstances.
