The Best Ability is Reliability

Anyone needs to understand the price to pay for being reckless with energy systems. We like to think (rather imagine) that at a certain point, an economy and a society have done enough to become stable and all kinds of crazy things can be realized without danger. The road to hell – however – is plastered with people who thought so. We are not far from total anarchy and unstable power as well as failing distribution systems quickly collapse our economies to subsistence. People’s patience with BS policies should wane quickly but the damage will have to be dealt with as well. No starting over from a blank slate.

The green-at-any-cost movement believe we need to sacrifice reliability in the here and now to save ourselves from some future doomsday.

I was introduced to and met Rudi in Angola when he started to develop his Sub Saharan Africa network. At the time he worked for EconGas/OMV and he tried organizing longterm LNG supply for them under the unlikeliest of all circumstances.
