The dimmest state of the Sun: TSI and Global warming
Since I was a little boy I had known that eventually, the Sun would do us all away. My boyish imagination saw a giant star that would swallow Earth in more than 4 billion years. Reality is far more mundane as in less than 1 billion years the Sun’s output will grow about 10% which will be enough to transform Earth into an irradiated, sterilized wasteland. The Sun is a star that continues to evolve and give off variable amounts of energy and light. The old Egyptians imagined the Sun as an immaculate disc – but it is not. Its a variable and hence fallible like so much else. Get used to it.
