The Chinese regime can be very brutal. They regularly mess up entire regions to the point where it becomes hard to live there. The reason is that the decision-makers know quite well that they would never live there themselves. They live in the nicer spots of China and pretty much all of them have great residences in Western countries where they can be sure that none of the environmental destruction they cause in China will hit them. But if they understood that the entire planet is going to go up in flames as the Greens say, they would think again. They are not stupid. And they know a hoax when they see it. So they don’t give a damn because there is no damn to give.

I was introduced to and met Rudi in Angola when he started to develop his Sub Saharan Africa network. At the time he worked for EconGas/OMV and he tried organizing longterm LNG supply for them under the unlikeliest of all circumstances.
