The French Interconnectors
Better interconnection between the different countries of the EU allows those countries with massive wind and solar portfolios to fake it and balance out their massive imbalances with buy and sell. This costs them a ton of money which is reflected in energy prices but at least grids don’t collapse. But, they do their own countries a disservice – not because of the high prices. It’s good if people experience the consequences of their choices fast so corrective measures can be taken. Interconnection just deepens the rot.
