The Gaza Conflict Puts Israel’s Natural Gas Future At Risk

The Gaza conflict might put Israel’s gas ambitions on steroids. Exporting gas is nice. But it’s a rather poor choice if you have an entire domestic market that could use the gas to get off oil imports and that’s exactly what I would do if I was an Israeli decision maker. Israel’s truck transport industry serves a small country and rarely ever crosses any borders so making them use LNG and setting up a few fueling stations would do the trick for little money. I would not export anything but rather reduce imports of oil.
