The Great European Farmer Revolt: Jilted, Turning On The Greens

European Agriculture has been a royal mess for decades. There has been a case for decades to re-nationalize the farming sector as the unwieldy European framework leaves everyone worse off. Farmers have been on the dole for so long that they can’t remember how to function without it anymore and now this dole is being used to pressure them. They have been riled up for many years now as moving in this byzantine system is often treacherous and encourages the wrong behavior. They want back to the days when life was easy, when they produced what their quotas allowed them with plenty of backup cash from Brussels but without the Damocles Sword. They are now poor and royally pissed. Very dangerous for politicians.

Europe’s farmers have turned out in fury as another favored constituency, the European Greens, has gained ascendancy and increasingly squeezed their standards of living.
