‘The most dumb thing’: Elon Musk dismisses hydrogen as tool for energy storage
Contrary to most people, Elon must have looked into the facts of hydrogen storage and transport and came to the conclusions he has. I suppose it was during trying to figure out what’s the best fuel for a reusable spacecraft. RP1 produces a lot of soot. Hydrogen destroys anything it touches. No problem in non-reusable rockets. Most of what we do as an economy is also reusable. hydrogen would put a mighty dent into that. Mechanized hydrogen would not. If you must go hydrogen – be smart and make it stable and safe to use.
