Any economy that thrives also has access to reliable, safe, and affordable energy. Otherwise, it’s hard to make it thrive and something else will have to give way. Some countries waste their environment to equalize, some their populations, some both. Cheap energy allows you to take care of your people and save the environment while having the economy take off. Consequently, expensive energy suppresses the economy and kills a lot of jobs. No amount of money printing will bring that back.
