The Power of Capitalism
There is the quaint assumption that there is a struggle between socialism and capitalism but nothing could be further from the truth. Capitalism permeates everything. Its life itself as there is a market for everything. Those markets are not necessarily the kind of markets we know in the democratic free world but they are there. Even North Korea has markets. Even inside prisons, there are markets. no matter if it’s hard cash or favors or cigarettes – the fundamental mechanisms are all the same. The true see-saw swings between more-individualism and more-collectivism.
