Today I met one of my brothers. We had some coffee and a long chat and suddenly he told me he wanted to put solar panels on his very large roof. I asked him if he is up to date on subsidies and that in Vienna there is mandatory grid balancing. I also asked him if he understands that when he makes electricity, this means that the Sun shines brightly and that all others make a lot of electricity as well which means his sales price crashes. At the same time the grid is close to collapse so this price goes up. Plenty of people have gotten burned on this. But batteries are even worse. It’s a misery how uninformed people are.
