The US-China trade war may escalate to energy
For China to be energy independent they will have to find a way to develop more domestic energy and fall back to the one thing you can store easily – coal. It’s not only bigger in China than anywhere else, it’s not only cheaper than all else, its also something that can be dumped onto giant heaps and used when needed. The more paranoiac China becomes, the bigger coal is going to be. There is no escaping this.
