The world’s future energy wars will be fought under the sea

No, they won’t. Make no mistake – resources from the seabed will be big. If I only think of the methane hydrate reserves in the various seabeds around the world. Dwarfs even oil and gas reserves. And many of those are located close to Asian nations that need a lot of energy but don’t have good domestic options. They would sure like a breakthrough here. I still don’t hold my breath. In the meantime, shale is going to dominate the game and that’s most certainly not predominantly an offshore technology. Shale will plug the most interesting markets.
