And let’s be real about it. The Americas will, in time, decouple from the international oil markets. Their demand will rise but it won’t matter to the rest of the world. The big factor outside the Americas is China and what will happen to its economy. I predict that China will start to show massive strain and that its economy will start to shrink at a rapid rate very soon. The global export market is losing steam and Europe cannot afford buying binges in Asia anymore. this will depress demand so while overall demand might remain rather healthy due to the US, the rest of the world won’t feature high prices for long.
