Tony Blair Institute calls for electric car road tax to avoid ‘gridlock Britain’

One can only pluck so many feathers off one goose. Drivers of internal combustion engine vehicles have been providing a massive chunk of money used for shoring up the structures of any developed nation for many decades. Removing this source of income wreaks havoc with public finances so either there is a replacement or there is calamity. Add that subsidy hogs like electric cars suck lots of money out of the budget so they not only deliver fresh cash but they also burn the scarce cash that remains. How long before things fall apart?
