Total CEO Calls for Aid in Fighting Islamic State
The problem of Daesh cannot be solved by constant interventions. As long as Western Armies fight Daesh on their ground, they will always retain an aura of the good savior to the people on the ground and if we learned something it is that you cannot beat militias that have local support. Only when the local population understands that their lives are so much worse off with Daesh than without, they will drop them. Pouring double-digit billions into a senseless military adventure just to save business interests is a bad deal. Europe has plenty of problems to deal with on its own – no need for military adventures. And there are other energy sources that don’t require young people to step into the line of fire.
