I have spent a lot of time in South Africa and got to know the system. It’s a masterful example of how affirmative action on multiple levels plus a massive amount of virtue signaling can totally ruin a country. There were multiple avenues to resolve the appalling energy crisis in South Africa and the economic incentives are there as market prices are sky-high. But this is not a business-oriented country – it’s a country that wants to make past sins right and in doing so they incentivize leechers and push those interested in the business part only away. Every country, every society has those leechers – giving them power is a recipe for doom.
